Three police officers in Fredericton, New Brunswick, suffered minor injuries during a long car chase on Friday night.
It all began at about 6:00 pm when an officer located a suspect on Smythe Street who was wanted under several arrest warrants, Sgt. Sean Clark said.
The officer was dragged by the suspect’s car on “5 to 10 feet” when the suspect fled, says Clark, but he managed to call in reinforcements.
Policemen aboard several autopatrol took the suspect on the hunt. The pursuit ended in Woodstock, approximately 100 km from the starting point.
The suspect fenced in and was arrested with the help of a resident, says Sean Clark. The man must respond to a series of charges, including dangerous driving and assault on a police officer.
The other two officers were injured in minor collisions during the pursuit. They were discharged from the hospital.
