A child dies in a fire in Trois-Rivières

A three-year-old child was killed in a fire that devastated a single-family home in the Cap-de-la-Madeleine area of Trois-Rivières on Tuesday night.

Two adults, the parents of the child, were injured and were taken to hospital, but it seems they will be safe.

The fire broke out in the house on rue Massicotte around half past midnight.

It seems that the three people jumped out of a window to escape the flames.

A temperature of about -28 degrees Celsius made it very difficult for the firefighters to extinguish the fire, the cause of which is not yet known.
